Back again for 2010, the FISE blew away the European public with some of the best rail riding in the world. With a similar course to last year, the Sesitec System 2 was once again brought in to be the tow apparatus of choice for an event like this. With 2 System 2′s in action, the riders had the chance to hit both sides of the rail park to lay down their best runs. With riders coming from all over the world, all the best rail riders in the wakeboarding industry turned out for the event. Returning this year was last years winner, Keith Lidberg, who dominated the event in 2009. Other notable athletes were Kevin Henshaw, Oliver Derome and Marc Rossiter from the UK. Read More

Bret Little came into town the other day so I thought it would be sweet to get him out at The Projects on the System 2.0 for a little video. George Daniels also came out and totally destroyed the park.
TheWakePlace.com – With Shawn Watson being one of the original innovators in the sport from way back when, he knows a good thing when he see’s it. Shawn has seen and ridden on the Sesitec System 2, and has been coming out to The Projects to session some air tricks and hit the rails. We got Shawn to talk over the System 2 and tell us what he thinks to how its changing the sport. Once again we see yet another rider who is completely blown away by the potential of the System 2.0…..
TheWakePlace.com – The weather in Orlando right now is pretty horrible! Strong winds, cold days and night, cold water and lots of cups of tea! But its also still that time when riders aren’t on the lake doing their contest passes, but are just trying things and having fun. So last week, Parks Bonifay, Danny Harf and Kevin Henshaw headed to The Projects to hit up Kev’s idea of the kicker at the end of the System 2 turn. Its super tough to make this look as easy as these guys do. From cutting into it, to actually making it down the other side – this is not easy. But, think of the potential that these guys are unlocking with this……
TheWakePlace.com – So it seems that even riders in the pro skate world have heard of the System 2 and how awesome the whole set up is. One of these skaters is legend Andrew McDonald, who came into town at the end of last summer to session the System 2 rail park at The Projects. This was Andy’s first time hitting the System 2, and couldn’t stop saying how fun the whole experience was. He has since been back a few more times after this too. Even more evidence that the Sesitec System 2 is the best out there…..
TheWakePlace.com – JD Webb has seen it and done everything in our sport. From killing it behind the boat, to pushing rail riding in our sport, to WakeLab and now cable riding. With System 2 changing the sport, we sat down with JD to see what he had to say about the System 2, and where he thinks the sport will go with it. It seems that more and more riders that come and ride the Sesitec System 2 are being blown away by how it is changing things. JD is yet another rider who is loving the possibilities….
TheWakePlace.com – Kevin Henshaw is a rider who is always looking for that new way to push the sport. He saw early on that the Sesitec System 2 was the perfect tool for him to use to create some new rails and ideas. Anyone out there who has seen his section in ‘Out Of The Pond’ would have seen the innovation that Kevin has had towards the sport and system 2, and in such a short space of time. We sat down with Kevin and asked him about his experiences with the System 2 cable and the future of where it will be.
Keith Lyman is to use the Sesitec System 2 as part of his ‘Lyman Weeks’ at The Projects Wakeboard Camp. The System can handle any level of rider, and is the perfect addition to a wakeboard camp setup. Keith Lyman is an experienced rider in the wakeboarding world, he knows a good thing when he see’s it.
TheWakePlace.com – The Sesitec System 2 cable is being taken to other sports, and evolving them as it has wakeboarding. Just imagine what this set up is doing for board sports all around the world. Any place that gets snow can now build a park and shred all day, no mountain needed. Now think of Wakelab, and imagine a similar snow comp using the system! The future of wake AND snow has been changed….
TheWakePlace.com – This is the last part in the 3 part mini series to kick off System 2 Sundays on TheWakePlace. From now on, EVERY Sunday will be dedicated to the device that is changing our sport – The Sesitec System 2.0. This video shows what Kevin Henshaw and Keith Lidberg have been thinking about with the System 2, and is only the first time they tried something like this. With time, these guys will bring you some never before seen situations and set-ups. Starting next week, we will see what the worlds best riders have to say about the System 2 – and why they think its the best thing out there….
TheWakePlace.com – This is a everyday thing at The Projects, a bunch of people hanging out and hitting the park. On this afternoon, Clay Fletcher, Steve Campbell, Nate Perry, Brian Reeder and Andrew Adams were there to hit the Nike 6.0 park. Using the System 2.0, these guys tore apart the incline – showing just how many different things you can pull on one rail. Steve’s last hit was crazy impressive to see with my own eyes, props for that one…..
TheWakePlace.com – Part 2 of our 3 part mini series moves over to the Nike 6.0 rail park, this time with Marc Rossiter, Nate Perry, Dieter Humpsh, Jimmy LaRiche and Kevin Henshaw. They all sessioned the inclide right after they had all been on the air trick cable. All of them killed it in this, completely owning the rail. Henshaw’s hits on the rail were awesome to see so close, especially when he hit it backwards. Part III next Sunday, where we see Henshaw again on a spline kicker at the end of the System 2 lake – this time joined by Keith Lidburg.
TheWakePlace.com – This is video 1 of a 3 part mini-series. Over the last month, Kevin Hanshaw, Jimmy LaRiche, Bob Soven, Shaun Watson, Parks Bonifay, Erik Ruck and a few others have been coming out to hit up the System 2 park here at The Projects. So many air tricks have been learned over the past few weeks, its insane. Its pretty cool to see the worlds best boat rider apply themselves to the cable. Bob Soven even manages to pull off new tricks that i’ve never seen before! Parts 2 and 3 are coming over the next week – so stay tuned….
TheWakePlace.com = The Sesitec System 2.0 has changed the sport in a huge way. From the RedBull wakelab, to the progression we have seen in womens wakeboarding – a whole lot of it wouldn’t have happened if the System 2 wasn’t around. Nearly every rider out there is loving the system, and we have been catching up with all of them to see what they think to the 2.0 and how it will shape our industry. Every Sunday we will bring you a new video in the series: System 2 Sundays.
TheWakePlace.com – Pat and the crew at The Projects have just put in a new rail for Nike 6.0 – its a Manual box and a mini flat bar, a great addition to the System 2 park that is building and building there. So we hooked up with Nate Perry and Mark Rossiter for another early morning shred session, just hitting the 6.0 rail. These guys were still bringing out all the tech presses and slides even on the smaller rail, there is no stopping these two. Both of them feed off each other too, finishing up the morning with a game of ‘JIB’. The Projects is still the sickest place in our sport to be, as a filmmaker or a rider. If you’re in Florida and can’t say that you’ve been there, then you need to change that! If you’re outside Florida, get yourself to the Projects camp…. we’ll see you there!
The Nordic Mountain Cable Wake Park featuring a Sesitec System 2.0 installed by The Wake Park Project is now open on weekends. Check out NordicMountain.com for more info and updates.
Full story on Nordic Mountain’s new cable wake park setup at Transworld Business.
Mt. Morris, WI – Nordic Mountain, a ski resort in Central Wisconsin, has recently announced its plans to install a wakeboard cable system scheduled to open in June of 2009. The cable system, a Sesitec System 2.0, will be the first of its kind set up in the Midwest, and only the seventh installed nationwide.

Every year the Triple-S grows, both in athlete participation and excitement, as well as in the event itself, the parties and the REAL Slider Park. This year, John Wayne Cancer Foundation stepped up to the plate and launched a new rail into the park that redefined the standard for kiteboarding obstacles worldwide. This new rail was built by The Wake Park Project in Florida, constructed with welded aluminum and covered in HDPE (high density polyethylene). Basically, it is going to last longer than any of us reading this article AND it is perfectly designed, a true work of genius! The new John Wayne rail is 82’ feet long and features a removable gap section in the middle, so it can be set up as an “A-Frame” or a “M-Gap Rail”. To see it in the water brings only jaw dropping awe….
The only thing even close to the experience of seeing the JWCF in the water is looking at a 100’ maxi ocean racing sailboat pulling out of Newport to set a new Transatlantic record. It’s that tight, that powerful and that perfect. The new John Wayne rail means business and from the second it was delivered to REAL (on two flat bed trucks driving thru the night from Florida) the Triple-S athletes were drooling!

Last week Sesitec upgraded a preexisting Rixen cable park from a 4-tower cable to 6-tower cable wake park, near Graz, Austria. The Wake Park Project sent Pat Panakos to back up Fritz and Tony from Sesitec to install the new 6-tower cable system. From what Panakos said, they got all 6-towers up in less than 24 hours, which is a testament to Sesitec’s decades of installation experience and on-site efficiency. The new Sesitec cable design is similar to our CWC installation, but with a shorter running length. The new cable layout by Sesitec will also feature 4 custom fabricated wake park obstacles to start, and there are plans to expand to 8 for next season.
Other cable parks in Germany are also in the process of upgrading to Sesitec cable systems. Many exisiting installations want to take advantage of the innovative layouts that Sesitec offers for cable wakeboarding and other water sports in today’s marketplace, along with cutting edge equipment options such as Lake Control for turn-key customer management. These new Sesitec layouts are optimal for advanced riders but also yield an amazingly consistent and forgiving pull for beginner to intermediate riders, which helps park owners to maximize their revenue potential.

Red Bull North America has recently been throwing down the most progressive contests in wake sports. The same is true in Europe. Red Bull Germany with the help from our friends at Sesitec Cable Systems put on one of the sickest contests to date, Red Bull Wake the Line. Wake park obstacles and features were built between three olympic size pools. The highlight of the comp definitely was the quarter pipe at the end of the third pool. It’s crazy to think the last quarter pipe a wakeboarder hit (which was also the first in wake) was built in 2001 for the Carnival contest at The Projects Wakeboard and Wakeskate Camp. The difference this time was a Sesitec System 2.0 straight-line cable pulling the contest. So instead of edging in and letting go, the riders held on to the handle, hit the quarter pipe and rode back out. It was an amazing contest that really showed the direction our sport should head.
TheWakePlace.com – We shot this video on the 6th of May, and both of these guys had only been learning air tricks for less than a week. I think this was Bob’s 3rd or 4th time out and Harleys 3rd. Either way, these guys are learning multiple tricks a day, and Bob has even taken his SBends to a triple. This was all the lead up to that, and just a few shots from one evening out with the System 2.0’s. Matt Hickman and the Wake Park Project are really paving a new direction in the sport. We have plenty more to come from these guys soon….
The season opening for European Wakeboarding couldn’t have been better. At Red Bull Wake The Line more than 7,000 spectators saw incredible wakeboard action on a new level performed by top riders from all over the world. The obstacle setup included a massive quarterpipe at the end of the run and offered a platform for tricks never seen before in wakeboarding. Towed by Sesitec’s System 2.0 straight-line cable, the four pools in the stadionbad of Cologne made a total of 320 meters of wake heaven. In the superfinal, Keith Lidberg showed the best performance, winning ahead of Germany’s Bernhard Hinterberger and Shawn Watson (USA). Read More
The TXMC Wake Park is now open and ready to ride! The new cable system, the Sesitec System 2.0, was first displayed to the public at the 2008 Surf Expo in Orlando for the Red Bull Wake Lab and is now at Texas MasterCraft’s private lake. Unlike a regular cable system that goes in either a clockwise or counterclockwise circle around a lake, the Sesitec System 2.0 is connected between two towers 700′ apart and goes down and back the same line. When the rider gets to either end of the cable system, he or she simply cuts out on edge and and makes a large arc and then the cable pulls the rider back the opposite direction. If you have never seen the Sesitec System 2.0 in action, click here for to learn all about it.
But what makes the TXMC Wake Park an actual wake park are the new obstacles for wakeboarding and wakeskating. Pat Panakos from The Projects Camp and The Wake Park Project in Orlando, Florida, has built both of the current features and is currently building a new box that is sure to be the talk of the town. Each of the features are completely boxed in so that riders cannot get hung up on them if they fall, greatly reducing the risk of injury. Currently, there is an incline box with each side of the box making a 45° angle with the water and a kicker that is perfect for learning to spin.
Every rider at the TXMC Wake Park is required to wear both a Coast Guard Approved (CGA) life jacket and a helmet. If you do not have your own CGA life jacket or helmet, both are available to rent or buy through the TXMC Pro Shop.
Each session on the TXMC Wake Park cable will be purchased and scheduled online through www.TXMCwakepark.com, much like the lessons for Sasser Wakeboard School. Each session lasts 15 minutes, so make sure you get to the TXMC Wake Park lake at least 15 minutes early so that you have time to put on your board, bindings, helmet, and CGA life jacket! Reserve your time call TXMC proshop at 817.589.7547 to schedule a session.
For commercial installations, Red Bull chooses Sesitec System 2.0 to power their ground-breaking events. The Wake Park Project provided two Sesitec System 2.0′s to power the Red Bull Wake Lab, the most innovative event in wakeboarding. Running side-by-side, the System 2.0′s pulled the world’s top riders over a massive wake park obstacle with rails and ramps designed and built by Pat Panakos of The Wake Park Project. Check out the video recap below…
